Found still life
| |
I swear that I didn't arrange any of the objects in this photo, not even the cardboard box. This was a still life just waiting around for someone to take its picture or paint it. Or perhaps even sculpt it. I did not have my chisel to hand, unfortunately.

Today (Victoria Day/Fête des Patriotes) is unofficially the start of summer in Canada, but here's a picture of spring.
Today is often known as May Two-Four in English Canada, to honour both Queen Victoria (whose birthday is on the 24th) and beer (a case of beer is called a two-four). Commonwealth heritage or what, eh?
Have a good day wherever you are.

Another tribute to Honest Ed's in Toronto. The PiPs at upper left show three more views of the store.
Ed's has now been replaced by a Big Bland Box. It's as if there's a conspiracy to banish colour from Toronto.
Eugène Atget would have loved this place.

Misterioso
| |
Herb Riddle noted that this photo reminded him of a xylophone, and then I realized it reminded me of a piano, and that Thelonius Monk's "Misterioso", with him on piano and Milt Jackson on vibraphone, had a good title for this photo, so I'm submitting it to Sight and Sound. Thanks to Herb for the inspiration.
