Cold but clean. You Canadians are careful recyclers.

Unfortunately that means that our recycling rules are amazingly complex, Sarah. As a result of my recent move I'm having to learn a whole new set, too.

I guess it is much of the same here. Some people like me, probably waste too much water to clean plastic and metallic waste too well before recycling, and some do not care at all. I hope the average is still better than if everyone would not care at all.

And a lot of the recycling never gets recycled, Sami.

Good to see it all clean and tidy with a nice snowy coverlet.

Where I'm living now gets about twice as much snow as Toronto, Jean, so expect more shots of snowy coverlets.

Oddly beautiful: a good idea for something under my Christmas tree!

I agree that it's a good idea, Steve. Innovation is lacking at Christmas. The first 40 or 50 times you set up a tree in your living room that seems kind of cool, but after that it just gets tired.

How to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, for sure. Sorta like the raccoons dumped the recycling bin? (Not meant as snarky as it sounds - I just got an irreverent picture in my head.)

But the shapes work well, with the snow softening them. It sure makes a difference!

Thanks, Bob. At least the raccoons here aren't as fierce competitors as the raccoons in Toronto, also known to the zoological world as uber-raccoons. Toronto introduced locked garbage cans a few years ago, and it took the raccoons about two days to figure out how to break the lock and get inside.
