The waterfall on the River Porter some 18 hours after the Sheffield floods on 25th June 2007. The river had already gone down over half a metre, judging by the debris strand line in places downstream. The Porter is normally a docile sort of stream. A month earlier it was like this:

Porter Waterfall 2

Another shot of the waterfall in the Porter Valley. This time there was more water flowing than in my previous visit a few weeks earlier. This waterfall is in the upper reaches of the River Porter between Ringinglow and Fulwood Mills. Here the Porter flows over a 4 metre-high bench of Redmires Flags, part of the 'Millstone Grit' series in the Upper Carboniferous.
