Canal bank hawthorn
Chesterfield Canal: Drakehouse to Wiseton walk, 28th May 2015.
It was a beautiful late spring day and the hawthorn bushes were laden with rich, fragrant May blossom along the banks of the Chesterfield Canal near Drakehouse, Nottinghamshire. Close-up of the hawthorn flowers (Crategus) next to the towpath.
The footpath which follows the canal towpath is the 'Cuckoo Way'.
