Sheffield and South Yorkshire vista with Wincobank Wood

Sheffield and South Yorkshire vista with Wincobank Wood
A north-easterly view from high up above Ringinglow on the west side of Sheffield.

Features include (increasingly distant): Fulwood and Ranmoor, Tapton and Crosspool with the masts, the wooded hillfort of Wincobank in the centre, Tinsley viaduct, Magna steel works museum; Rawmarsh with its dark church tower and clock face, the old Aldwarke steel works. The dark shadowed/wooded strip in the middle distance is the Magnesian Limestone escarpment around Cadeby. In the very far distance, forming the skyline are the Yorkshire Wolds in the South Cave - Market Weighton area over 50 miles away.
