This implies that the M9 is a screwmount. Is this the case? I have a Leica III with the Elmar lens and an M3 with the Summicron, and their 80mm. I don't believe the lens mounts between the ELmar and the M3 are compatible - the M3 lens inserts and turns a fraction to be fully in place. Are you using a converter here?

of course! but beware of some Chinese manufacturers, not perfect in execution. Better to buy the genuine Leica or Voigtländer.
