Oh, interesting - when I asked my insurance agent about it, she seemed to suggest that the kilns/torches wouldn't affect my insurance unless I wanted to add coverage for my equipment beyond whatever the basic policy would cover... Right now, I have a smallish electric kiln; it will probably go outside in that lavender square (covered patio, pretty well protected from the elements) - not enough juice going out to the garage (my original plan), although i may update that at some point in the future. Eventually, I'd like to build a (gas) salt kiln, which will be out in the garage; and while I also kind of want to build a wood kiln that's more of a distant-future project. :) (but i *do* plan to build an outdoor wood-burning bread oven, which will be kind of a practice run for that... ;) )
