TSC: chairs

Apparently, people jump out of these chairs and fling themselves down the mountain at high speeds, in the cold snow, on purpose. For fun.

Top of the ski area at Sandia Peak in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

ETA: Just to be clear, I did *not* ride on one of those death-traps; I took the aerial tramway up the other side of the mountain (see note). :)

Thanks! :) I've never tried skiing... Between the Flying Chairs Of Doom, the falling-down-a-mountain-at-high-speed, and the spending-all-day-in-the-freezing-snow (I prefer watching the snow through the window while sitting in a comfy chair in front of a fire with a stack of books and a hot caffeinated beverage), I'm thinking it's probably not my sport... :D

WOW that's beautiful .. I wish I could get the courage to ride one of those but in spite of the terrific views from up there ... I would be frozen in fear. Love those leading lines and the presentation works well. :)

Oh yeah, no power in the 'verse could get me on one of those. The views coming up the other side of the mountain were fabulous, and the cable cars are nice and big (like 30-ish people, maybe?) and safely enclosed. :D

I don't think I could even handle the cable cars :( no sense my trying it as I wouldn't see the views for having my eyes shut all the way. Glad you got to see those fab views. :)

Great idea for the seat. I like going on this kind of ski lift, but would do it in the summer so I can walk down.

Fabulous scenery. I have skied quite a bit and don't mind the chairlifts at all. Interesting to see New Mexico. Great captures, very well done!

Thanks! :) It's always kind of strange to find ski places in the desert; but at 10,000 ft up, they do get snow in winter even when the weather down at ground level is much warmer. :)
