Exploring the hill behind the bath house, there are a number of interesting structures -- many of which are abandoned. This one had a floor, suggesting it was some sort of shelter. (See adjacent Tecopa Hot Springs pictures.)

Ever since I started visiting Tecopa Hot Springs, in the mid-90's, this abandoned Willys truck has sat in the same place on the southern edge of area. It's location makes it almost a landmark, but there is nothing to indicate why it is there. Its benign neglect, however, is perfectly representative of the area.

The same pool (see adjacent picture) in the winter, at about 25 degrees air temperature. (See adjacent Tecopa Hot Springs pictures.)

One of the hot springs just north of Tecopa Hot Springs. The mud is only about 3 feet down, but when you stand in it you sink about another 2 feet down into the mud. A very queasy feeling at first, but soon relaxing -- like a mud-bath.
