Aberdeen WA Chehalis River industry (#1364)
The Chehalhis River from a point on US 12 just about .5 mile east of Aberdeen. Despite the frequent complaints of environmental regulations killing the forestry products industry, clearly there is still some active forestry work in the area. The satellite view will show how large the lumber yards are on each side of the river, though those images do suggest that the large area immediately across the area is an abandoned lumber yard. The smoke/steam in the distance appears to come from Cosmo Specialty Fibers, a 2011 revival of a Weyerhaeuser factory that converts wood pulp into products used in livestock feed (see: www.cosmospecialtyfibers.com/products/products-sales )
