DescriptionOcean-to-Ocean Highway bridge and railroad bridge. ..Not long after I took this picture, a teenager appeared who was climbing onto the railroad bridge from cliff. He then walked just a little ways across the railroad bridge, and jumped. Considering the shallowness of the river, I assumed that meant there would be an accident. Watching for a few minutes, no one ran to the river, so I assumed either that nothing happened or he had died without being noticed. The next day I asked someone about people jumping from the bridge and she told me that the just below the Ocean-to-Ocean bridge, the rock formations result in currents that dig very deep but relatively narrow holes in the river under the bridge. Efforts to discourage jumping are regularly made since a slight miss in the jump could be deadly, but people still jump.
