That specific area has an even more complex history -- I've talked with bartenders in the part of Nevada who worked for many decades after the war building atomic bombs.

I've been up close and even inside, though in recent years there's been more active marking on them to stay out. There's one picture in the Nevada Southwest album from inside, more on Flickr from inside and nearby. I would love to see some plaques out there that described what planes were stored in them, but there is almost no documentation of the area.

I'd prefer that the next generations have some sense of what WWII and the Cold War was like, so would like to see the memory preserved, but let natural actions wear down the structures. Re the increased warnings and taping off, a hazard that seems to be related to the increasing use of photography is legal concerns about being sued when people are injured while exploring. That's one area I'd like to see the 'nanny state' back off, when you're out there you know the exploring is dangerous (if you don't, you're awfully stupid.)
