At the time the basic regular coach service was operated by Autocars Alpbus twice a day to Flaine from Cluses, the closest main rail linked town about 33 km distant taking 50 minutes. Flaine is built on different levels and in the background there can be seen a small ‘ascenseur’ (elevator) linking two of the levels. It is the orange cube seen halfway up the incline.
