Saturday 2 June 2018 (1050) – Looking very much like a Megabus vehicle this Stagecoach (Busways Travel Services) was actually an overall (almost) advert for Megabus. 19432 (NK58 FMU), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Trident new in December 2008, seen in Pilgrim Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne working cross town service 1 from Buddle Road to Coach Lane Campus of Northumbria University.

Wednesday 21 May 2014 (1213) - A new Megabus service was launched on Monday 19 May 2014 linking Norwich with Cardiff via Cambridge, Birmingham and Bristol. Stagecoach 53644 (KX61 GFA) was seen passing Red Lodge near Mildenhall when working the 1030 departure from Norwich bus station/1045 from the University of East Anglia. Its next call would Cambridge city centre (1205) then Birmingham city centre (1440-1445), Abbey Wood (University of the West of England) (1625), Bristol city centre (1645) and Cardiff city centre (1800). This coach works from the Rugby garage of Stagecoach and its duties today would have been 0510 Birmingham-Norwich 0915; 1030 Norwich-Cardiff 1800; and 1900 Cardiff-Birmingham-Rugby 2300. Another Rugby vehicle covers 0625 Rugby-Birmingham-Cardiff 1030; 1130 Cardiff-Norwich 1855; 2010 Norwich-Birmingham. To complete the timetable Freestones Coaches of Beetley near Dereham, Norfolk, the contracted operator for the Megabus Norwich-London service, works 0550 Norwich-Birmingham 1005; 1120 Birmingham-Norwich 1530; 1600 Norwich-Birmingham 2015; and 2130 Birmingham-Norwich 0120. 53644 is a Plaxton Panther bodied Volvo B9R new in October 2011.

Saturday 11 March 2017 (0910) – Stagecoach Western 50250 (SV62 BFF), a Van Hool TDX27 Astromega new in September 2012, had worked an overnight run down from Scotland and was seen in the arrivals terminal of Victoria Coach Station. Note the baggage trailer. The arrivals terminal is separate from the main coach station itself and is accessed from Eccleston Place (at right out of shot). They leave by the exit to Elizabeth Street (to the right of the camera). The property was once the operational garage of Samuelson New Transport Limited - still referred to as ‘Sammy’s’. There is a small workshop area to handle those unforeseen mechanical problems part of which can be seen on the left where a Caetano Levante was receiving attention. Saturday 11 March 2017 (0923) – Stagecoach Western 50250 (SV62 BFF), a Van Hool TDX27 Astromega new in September 2012, was easing its way out of the exit (into Elizabeth Street) from the arrivals terminal of Victoria Coach Station. It had worked an overnight run down from Scotland. The arrivals terminal is separate from the main coach station itself and is located along the back of the retail premises and offices of Mountbarrow House. Coaches enter from Eccleston Place and exit to Elizabeth Street. The property was once the operational garage of Samuelson New Transport Limited - still referred to as ‘Sammy’s’.

It had worked an overnight run down from Scotland. The arrivals terminal is separate from the main coach station itself and is located along the back of the retail premises and offices of Mountbarrow House in the background.

Saturday 11 March 2017 (0952) – Stagecoach Western 50250 (SV62 BFF), a Van Hool TDX27 Astromega new in September 2012, was easing its way along Buckingham Palace Road heading towards the entrance to Victoria Coach Station. It had worked an overnight run down from Scotland (arriving around 0730) and might have been the coach that went on to work the 1030 service M21 to Glasgow. The buildings in the background are part of the Victoria Coach Station property. The art deco section on the right of the gap was part of the original property built in 1932. The building to the left of the gap was a mid 1960s addition. When the coach station first opened on 10 March 1932 the coach entrance was alongside the curved art-deco building.

Saturday 11 March 2017 (0956) – Stagecoach 50233 (CN61 FAA), a Van Hool TD927 Astromega new in February 2012, seen in Buckingham Palace Road, London heading towards Victoria Coach Station. It may have been the 0620 Megabus service M7 from Cardiff which was scheduled to arrive in London at 1010.

Saturday 11 March 2017 (1000) – Stagecoach Midland Red South 54280 (YX66 WNM) seen on layover in Buckingham Palace Road, London. It is a Plaxton Elite i Interdeck bodied Volvo B11RT new in October 2016. Used on Megabus network services.

Saturday 11 March 2017 (1001) – The grandiose (older) building forming the backcloth to this photograph was opened in 1939 as the Empire Terminal (city air terminal) of Imperial Airways, Imperial became part of BOAC not long after. The building is now occupied by the National Audit Office. Stagecoach Midland Red South 54280 (YX66 WNM) seen on layover in Buckingham Palace Road, London. It is a Plaxton Elite i Interdeck bodied Volvo B11RT new in October 2016. Used on Megabus network services.

Saturday 11 March 2017 (1002) – Stagecoach Midland Red South 54280 (YX66 WNM) seen on layover in Buckingham Palace Road, London. It is a Plaxton Elite i Interdeck bodied Volvo B11RT new in October 2016. Used on Megabus network services. The wide doors facilitate the loading of wheelchairs.

Saturday 11 March 2017 (1004) – Stagecoach 50223 (OU59 AUW) swinging into Buckingham Palace Road from Semley Place having just left Victoria Coach Station as the 1000 Megabus service M10 to Bristol (1250) calling at the University of the West of England near Filton (1230). A rather impatient driver who was blaring his horn constantly at a Dutch coach that had just passed by where I was stood.

At the kerb was Stagecoach Midland Red South 54280 (YX66 WNM), a Plaxton Elite i Interdeck bodied Volvo B11RT new in October 2016, on layover. On the right is Stagecoach 50223 (OU59 AUW), a Van Hool TD927 Astromega new in September 2009, when had just departed from nearby Victoria Coach Station as the 1000 Megabus service M10 to Bristol (1250) calling at the University of the West of England near Filton (1230).

Saturday 11 March 2017 (1120) – Stagecoach Wales 50241 (CN61 FBC), a Van Hool TD927 Astromega new in February 2012, seen during layover in Buckingham Palace Road near Victoria Coach Station.

Saturday 11 March 2017 (1124) – Stagecoach South West 54266 (YY65 VXH), a Plaxton Elite i Interdeck bodied Volvo B11RT new in December 2015. Seen in Buckingham Palace Road, London heading for Victoria Coach Station to work the 1200 Megabus service to Falmouth (Cornwall) (due there 2100). The intermediate schedule points are Bristol (1440-1445), Exeter (1650-1655), Plymouth University (1815), Plymouth City Centre (1820-1825), Bodmin (1925), Newquay (2000), Redruth (2030) and Penryn University (2050).

Saturday 11 March 2017 (1000) – Stagecoach 54219 (YX63 NHF), a Plaxton Elite i Interdeck bodied Volvo B11RT new in November 2013. Note the ‘Flixbus’ vinyl on the side. It was pulling in to the arrivals terminal of Victoria Coach Station in Eccleston Place which was once the operational garage of Samuelson New Transport Limited - still referred to as ‘Sammy’s’. Unfortunately the destination display wasn’t caught by the camera it read ‘Sammy’s Lane 2’ if I recall correctly.
