Showbus, Sunday 21 September 2014 - CIÉ (Córas Iompair Éireann) C234 (EZH 234), a CIÉ/Metsec bodied Leyland Leopard new in 1966 preserved by Ian Molloy. The destination blind shows 'Gaillimh' which is the Irish spelling of 'Galway'. In May 1969 I travelled on sister coach C235 from Galway to Armagh on the Galway-Belfast Express service. C233-C235 were assigned to Galway garage and there duties included working on the Belfast service. What a pity it hadn’t been C234 I travelled on back then!

Showbus, Sunday 21 September 2014 - London General S433 (XL 8940) AEC approx 1921. The S class was primarily double deck featuring over 800 double deckers along with a smaller number of single deckers (around 60).

Showbus, Sunday 21 September 2014 - The only front entrance front engined AEC/Park Royal Routemaster commissioned by London Transport was RMF1254 (254 CLT). Whilst LT did operate a number of front entrance Routemasters on airport services on behalf of BEA (some of which ended their lives on LT services), LT didn’t perpetuate the front entrance RM in its mainstream fleet.

Showbus, Sunday 21 September 2014 - Just a few former London Transport AEC/Park Royal Routemasters which appeared at Duxford. 2014 was the 60th anniversary of the Routemaster.

Showbus, Sunday 21 September 2014 - London Transport commissioned 500 all Leyland PD2/3 buses built to the width of 8 feet. The RTW class was delivered in 1949/1950. RTW497 (LLU 987). What a contrast when compared with the Oxford Bus Company Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 hybrid in the background.
