Tuesday 28 October 2025 (1100) – Showing ‘Bus Full’ on the destination display, Stagecoach East 86010 (BV23 NRX) was seen in Trumpington Street, Cambridge as it arrived from Trumpington,on Park & Ride service PR3. It is one of thirty MCV bodied Volvo BZL electric double deckers (numbered 86001-86030) that commenced regular service on the Cambridge Park & Ride services on Sunday 14 May 2023.

It is an MCV bodied Volvo BZL, one of the thirty electric double deckers placed in service in the city around May 2023 (Fleet numbers 86001-86030). The rear light layout is quite different from the old traditional style round or even square formats.

It is an MCV bodied Volvo BZL, one of the thirty electric double deckers placed in service in the city around May 2023 (Fleet numbers 86001-86030). The rear light layout is quite different from the old traditional style round or even square formats.

Tuesday 9 September 2025 (0902) – A Stagecoach East Wright bodied Volvo on the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway at Histon & Impington. The Busway was constructed on the alignment of the former Cambridge-St. Ives railway line which finally closed circa 1970. The older building behind the rear of the bus was Histon railway station and is now a bar/café.

Tuesday 9 September 2025 (0901) – Stagecoach East 10791 (SN66 VZO), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC new in December 2016, seen crossing the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway at Histon & Impington. This was the 0825 service 8 from Cottenham to Emmanuel Street. Having departed Cottenham on time it was now running about 12 minutes late due to heavy traffic. The Busway stop here is named Histon & Impington to serve the two adjacent communities. The Busway was constructed on the alignment of the former Cambridge-St. Ives railway line and the older building alongside the bus had been Histon railway station. It is now The Station House coffee shop.

Left: 21311 (BV18 YCA), a Wright Eclipse Urban 3 bodied Volvo B8RLE new in March 2018, is seen heading eastbound on the 1056 service A from St. Ives Marley Road to Trumpington Park & Ride. Right: 13910 (BU69 XYL), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400XLB bodied Volvo B8L delivered in December 2019, is seen heading westbound on the 1045 service B from Cambridge to Huntingdon and Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The Stagecoach East depot at Fenstanton provides the buses for the company’s Busway services and, according to the ukbuses.co.uk website in August 2025, has an allocation of 14 double deckers (13901-12/15218-15220/15291-15294) and 23 single deckers (21227/21229-21235/21301/21303-21312/21363-21368). Using data seen on the Bus Times website at the same time, it appears that the Busway services have 13 double deck running cards (FB01-FB13) and 18 single deck running cards (FA01-FB18). (Therefore needing 31 buses). In addition, Fenstanton depot also runs services 5 and 5A (Running cards F0501-F0504 and F5501-F5502 respectively) (Therefore needing a further 5 buses). In summary 37 buses to cover the 36 running cards. (Training vehicle 36065 (AJ58 PZZ) is also based at Fenstanton)

Tuesday 9 September 2025 (1007) – Stagecoach East 36065 (AJ58 PZZ), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 bodied Dart new in December 2008, seen near Huntingdon Railway Station. I believe this vehicle is allocated to Fenstanton depot, the depot which covers all the Stagecoach East workings on the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway. The photograph was taken from the upper deck of Whippet Coaches WG457 (BU25 ZFF). The window glass somewhat fly splattered.

Tuesday 9 September 2025 (0916) – Stagecoach East 21368 (BU69 XXF), an MCV eVoRa bodied Volvo B8RLE new in February 2020, seen at Longstanton on the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway. Despite what it shows on the destination display the bus was operating the 0906 service A from St. Ives Park & Ride to Trumpington Park & Ride. The tracker on the Bus Times website showed it managed to run to time for the whole journey arriving Trumpington at 1020.
