Tuesday 19 July 2022 (0735) – First Eastern Counties Buses 37061 (YJ06 XMO), a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL new in June 2006 to First West Yorkshire, seen arriving in Southwold to take up its first working of the day on the 0735 service 99 Lowestoft. It wears the Coastal Reds livery for the services worked from Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft garages. Interestingly the vehicle is fitted with guidewheels which remain from its time operating on busway routes in Leeds.

It wears the Coastal Reds livery for the services worked from Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft garages. Interestingly the vehicle is fitted with guidewheels which remain from its time operating on busway routes in Leeds. Note the garden ornament behind the wall under the tree, hedgehogs aren’t really that big in Southwold!

Monday 18 July 2022 (1350) – First Eastern Counties Buses (Ipswich Reds) 69422 (AU58 FFJ), seen in High Street, Aldeburgh arriving from Ipswich on the 1205 service 64. It is a Wright Eclipse Urban bodied Volvo B7RLE new in January 2009 in Ipswich Reds livery. The ‘Felixstowe Flyer’ branding is however inappropriate for this service and location.

Tuesday 19 July 2022 (0738) – BorderBus of Beccles 107 (BB12 BUS) seen arriving in Southwold to take up its first working of the day on the 0740 service 524 to Bungay. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 bodied Dart that had been new to Ace Travel of Aintree (780) in March 2012 registered MX12 DYU. BorderBus was established by the former management of AnglianBus, both companies being based in Beccles, AnglianBus is now owned by Go-Ahead.

Tuesday 19 July 2022 (0739) – BorderBus of Beccles 107 (BB12 BUS) seen arriving in Southwold to take up its first working of the day on the 0740 service 524 to Beccles and Bungay. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 bodied Dart that had been new to Ace of Aintree (780) in March 2012 registered MX12 DYU. Up ahead is another BorderBus Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 bodied Dart, 108 (BB11 BUS) working the 0734 school service SJL1 from Reydon to Sir John Leman School in Beccles. That had been new to Whitelaws of Stonehouse, Lanarkshire in April 2011 registered YX11 CSV. BorderBus was established by the former management of AnglianBus, both companies being based in Beccles, AnglianBus is now owned by Go-Ahead.

Tuesday 19 July 2022 (0739) – Two Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 bodied Darts operated by BorderBus of Beccles seen in Southwold. Nearest the camera is 107 (BB12 BUS) working the 0740 service 524 to Beccles and Bungay. It was new to Ace of Aintree (780) in March 2012 registered MX12 DYU. In front is 108 (BB11 BUS) working the 0734 school service SJL1 from Reydon to Sir John Leman School in Beccles. That had been new to Whitelaws of Stonehouse, Lanarkshire in April 2011 registered YX11 CSV. BorderBus was established by the former management of AnglianBus, both companies being based in Beccles, AnglianBus is now owned by Go-Ahead. The rear end of First Eastern Counties Buses 37043 (YJ06 XLT), a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL new in May 2006 to First West Yorkshire, can also be seen as it was arriving to work the 0735 service 99A to Halesworth and Bungay.

It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 bodied Dart that had been new to Whitelaws of Stonehouse, Lanarkshire in April 2011 registered YX11 CSV. BorderBus was established by the former management of AnglianBus, both companies being based in Beccles, AnglianBus is now owned by Go-Ahead.

Tuesday 19 July 2022 (1232) – BorderBus of Beccles 112 (BB71 BUS), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D MMC new in January 2022. Initially it was registered YX71 OJB by ADL (thus complying with the law for the builder to register a vehicle) but within days it was re-registered BB71 BUS. It was seen in Southwold between trips on service 146 having worked the 1015 service from Norwich (arriving Southwold at 1140) returning to Norwich on the 1235 service. BorderBus was established by the former management of AnglianBus, both companies being based in Beccles, AnglianBus is now owned by Go-Ahead.

Monday 18 July 2022 (1304) – BorderBus 215 (BB04 AVA), a Scania N230UD OmniCity that had been new to Stagecoach East London as their 15151 in January 2010 registered LX59 COJ. It was the most recent addition to their double deck fleet at the time. It was seen passing through Thorpness when working the 1218 service 521A from Peasenhall via Yoxford, Saxmundham, Leiston and Thorpeness to Aldeburgh (Fort Green) due there at 1309. The destination display includes ‘via Saxmundham’ although it had already been there. BorderBus was established by the former management of AnglianBus, both companies being based in Beccles, AnglianBus is now owned by Go-Ahead.

Sunday 17 July 2022 (1418) – First Stop Travel of Bury St. Edmunds YN15 EAP, a Mercedes-Benz 516CDI mini-coach with Portuguese built Irmãos Mota bodywork, seen at Southwold.

Monday 18 July 2022 (1445) – Coaches parked near the Pier and beach huts at Southwold. Cambridge Tours (Turnock and Partners), Longmeadow near Swaffham Bulbeck, Cambridgeshire YN63 BYR, a Lahden OmniExpress bodied Scania K380 (two axle) new to Harry Shaw, Coventry in September 2013. Alfa Coaches of Euxton is quite a sizeable tour operator. Mercedes-Benz Tourismo 118 (BV20 HNB) was new in March 2020 and was on a day out as part of a tour based at Great Yarmouth.
