Thursday 24 June 2021 (0904) – Three (yes, three) Mulleys Motorways vehicles seen in St. Andrew’s Street North, Bury St. Edmunds. Leading is YN54 AHA working service M44 to the Mildenhall Road and Howard Estates. It is a Scania N94UD OmniCity new to Nottingham City Transport (208) in September 2004. Following is YJ57 YDB working service M33 to Moreton Hall. It is an Optare Solo new to Peterborough City Council in December 2007. In the background is MX57 HDH an Optare Solo which was new in September 2007 to Nightingale Coaches (Johnson) of Greencroft, Annfield Plain, County Durham.

Thursday 24 June 2021 (0845) - Mulleys Motorways CN54 HFC seen in Risbygate Street, Bury St Edmunds. It is one of three former Veolia Transport Cymru Optare Solos acquired in 2012 to operate the company’s expanded Bury St Edmunds town service network. New to Bebb Travel of Llantwit Fadre, South Wales in September 2004. It is one of three former Veolia Transport Cymru Optare Solos acquired in 2012 to operate the company’s expanded Bury St Edmunds town service network. Thursday 24 June 2021 (0900) – Mulleys Motorways Optare Solo MX08 DHN seen just after leaving Bury St. Edmunds bus station when working the 0855 departure of Suffolk County Council contracted service 377 to Rougham and Bradfield St. George. It had been new to Tyrers of Nelson, Lancashire in March 2008 although was latterly operated by Wheelers Travel, Southampton. Passing by in the background is Stagecoach East 15214 (YN15 KHL) which, despite wearing the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway livery and lettering, was arriving from Cambridge and Newmarket on service 11. It is an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD new in August 2015. For many years vehicles on the services to/from Newmarket would leave the A14 at the ‘Sugar Beet Roundabout’ (junction 43) to then travel to the Bus Station. However, more recently a timing point has been introduced at West Suffolk College on all timings on every trip (Mondays to Saturdays). In the past the buses used to come up the hill of St. Andrew’s Street North (from the right) whereas now they arrive by travelling down the hill (from the left).

Left: Konectbus/Chambers (Go-Ahead) 875 (PN09 ENE), an Optare Olympus bodied Scania N230UD new to Metrobus (also Go-Ahead owned) in August 2009, was working service 750 to Sudbury (0910 from the Bus Station). Left is AE06 YYU, an Optare Solo which was new to Dews Coaches of Somersham, Cambridgeshire in August 2006. Right is YN54 AHA working service M55 to the Mildenhall Road and Howard Estates. It is a Scania N94UD OmniCity new to Nottingham City Transport (208) in September 2004.

Thursday 24 June 2021 (0838) - Mulleys Motorways MUI 7919 seen in Risbygate Street, Bury St Edmunds. It is an Alexander bodied Volvo B7TL new as Dublin Bus AV14 (00D 40014) in September 2000 which became X179 CHJ when imported to England. Mulleys re-registered it to MUI 7919 in May 2016.

Thursday 24 June 2021 (0850) – Mulleys Motorways YY63 WCO, a 15 metre long Plaxton Elite bodied B13RT, had been new to Park’s of Hamilton in January 2014 for National Express service work and whilst with Park’s it carried registration LSK 819. It was seen in Risbygate Street, Bury St. Edmunds when working the 0750 service 311X from Newmarket.

Thursday 24 June 2021 (0925) – Mulleys Motorways PO15 AZV seen in Bury St. Edmunds. It is an Unvi Touring GT bodied Mercedes-Benz 1524L that had been new to Watts Coaches of Bonvilston, Cardiff in March 2015.

It had worked the 0725 service 332 from Thetford and was nearing the bus station to go on to work the 0845 service 332 to Euston. It is a Wright Eclipse Urban bodied Volvo B7RLE that had been new to Go-Ahead owned Go South Coast (Wilts and Dorset) in May 2005 as their 137. It initially carried a livery for the Park and Ride services in Salisbury but latterly it wore the blue and red More Bus colours working around Poole and Bournemouth.
