Tuesday 1 June 1993 – Midland Red South Limited 709 (TOF 709S), a Leyland National 11351A/1R built in 1978, seen Main Street, Sibford Gower having arrived as the 1430 hrs service 480 from Banbury. This being the half term holiday week the return trip would be the 1500 hrs Saturdays and school holidays only service back to Banbury. I suspect on school days the bus went on to work an unadvertised school run. The bus carried a ‘Gold Line’ brand name.

Tuesday 1 June 1993 – Midland Red South Limited 709 (TOF 709S) makes the ascent from Burdrop to Sibford Ferris up Hawk’s Lane. Holy Trinity Church, in Sibford Gower, is prominent beyond. The quite distinct and raucous sound of the Leyland National echoed in the quiet morning air as it made the climb. A series 1 11351A/1R model built in 1978 which was working the 0900 hrs service from Sibford Gower to Banbury.

Tuesday 1 June 1993 – Midland Red South Limited 709 (TOF 709S) almost at the top of the climb of Hawk’s Lane as it entered the village of Sibford Ferris. The quite distinct and raucous sound of the Leyland National echoed in the quiet morning air as it made the climb. A series 1 11351A/1R model built in 1978 which was working the 0900 hrs service from Sibford Gower to Banbury. (The peeled fleetnumber transfer makes it look like 702 though).

Saturday 5 June 1993 – Midland Red South Limited 303 (G303 WHP) leaving Sibford Gower on the 0900 hrs service 480 to Banbury. Sibford Gower school can be seen in the background. Throughout the week a Leyland National single decker had been employed on this run (even though it was a school holiday week) but today this PMT bodied Mercedes-Benz Vario covered the trip.

Tuesday 1 June 1993 – Midland Red South Limited 5 (331 HWD) pauses at the junction of Main Street in Sibford Gower about to turn right into Pound Lane. It was working the Tuesdays only service X60 to Coventry, a shopper’s type of service, which originated at Hook Norton (0840) and travelling via various villages and towns including Banbury (0912) and Sibford Gower (0941). It is a Plaxton Supreme bodied Leyland Leopard that was new for National Express service work in July 1980 registered BVP 787V. (As is often the case, BT vans always seem to get in the way of my bus photography. I had been setting myself up for this shot for about 10-15 minutes when, just at the last moment the van which had been parked nearby, moved and parked on the corner!)
