Sunday 29 Sept 2019 – Showbus, Hertfordshire County Showground Preserved former Todmorden Joint Omnibus Committee 15 (YG 7831) is a Northern Counties bodied Leyland Tiger TS6 that was new in June 1934. On January 1 1931 Todmorden Corporation sold 50% of its bus undertaking to the London Midland & Scottish Railway and thus the Todmorden Joint Omnibus Committee was formed. Until changes in the late 1960s/early 1970s half of the bus fleet was owned by the Corporation and half by LMSR or later by British Railways. This bus had been one of those owned by the Corporation. During 1942 it was converted for use as a tow truck and in 1971 it passed to Mulleys Motorways of Ixworth, Suffolk.

On January 1 1931 Todmorden Corporation sold 50% of its bus undertaking to the London Midland & Scottish Railway and thus the Todmorden Joint Omnibus Committee was formed. Until changes in the late 1960s/early 1970s half of the bus fleet was owned by the Corporation and half by LMSR or later by British Railways. This bus had been one of those owned by the Corporation. All TJOC buses had to be of the ‘lowbridge’ type due to the low height of the garage interior. The type featured a sunken upper deck gangway which can be seen in this view. Upper deck seats are in rows of four. On January 1 1931 Todmorden Corporation sold 50% of its bus undertaking to the London Midland & Scottish Railway and thus the Todmorden Joint Omnibus Committee was formed. Until changes in the late 1960s/early 1970s half of the bus fleet was owned by the Corporation and half by LMSR or later by British Railways. This bus had been one of those owned by the Corporation.
