Storey’s Coaches was based in Littleport, Cambridgeshire. The business was acquired by Mil-Ken Travel in late 1995 and the Littleport premisies remain as the Mil-Ken base today.

Tuesday 7 March 1995 – Storey’s Coaches was based in Littleport, Cambridgeshire and the business was acquired by Mil-Ken Travel in late 1995. AUF 47K was seen by St. Mary’s Church in Mildenhall picking up children for the schools located on the nearby United States Air Force bases. It is a Plaxton Panorama Elite bodied Leyland Leopard PSU3B/4RT new in 1972 that had been acquired from Waterhouse Coaches of Polegate, Sussex.

Wednesday 23 August 1989 – Storey’s Coaches of Littleport, Cambridgeshire ran a Wednesday market day service from Ely to Bury St. Edmunds (0910 from Ely arriving in Bury at 1030). This Plaxton Supreme bodied Bedford, what I think is SDD 172R, was seen in Mildenhall on its way to Bury. Storey’s subsequently sold their business to Mil-Ken Travel.

Beck Row, was a Willowbrook Spacecar bodied Leyland Leopard new in November 1976 to Leicester City Transport as their number 13.

Friday 30 May 1997 (approx 0755) - Storey’s Coaches was based in Littleport, Cambridgeshire and the business was acquired by Mil-Ken Travel in late 1995. Bova EL26/581 integral 227 ASV was new to National Travel (London) in March 1982 registered SMY 627X. It was seen turning from Church Lane to The Street in Barton Mills when working a contract for children attending the schools located on the nearby United States Air Force bases.

Bova EL26/581 integral 227 ASV was new to National Travel (London) in March 1982 registered SMY 627X. It was seen in The Street in Barton Mills when working a contract for children attending the schools located on the nearby United States Air Force bases.

Wednesday 23 February 1994 - Storey’s Coaches was based in Littleport, Cambridgeshire and the business was acquired by Mil-Ken Travel in late 1995. A29 BHL was seen in The Street, Barton Mills having called to pick up children for the schools located on the nearby United States Air Force bases. It is a Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied Leyland Royal Tiger that had been new to Yorkshire Traction as their number 72 in May 1984 registered A72 YDT. It was later re-registered 6341 HE before becoming A29 BHL.
Leyland had used the ‘Royal Tiger’ marque from the early 1950s for its mid-engined underfloor models. The name was re-introduced some thirty or so years later for the rear engined integral ‘Royal Tiger Doyen’ as well as, like this coach, an underframed variant suitable for carrying traditional style third party bodywork.

Friday 27 May 1994 - Storey’s Coaches was based in Littleport, Cambridgeshire and the business was acquired by Mil-Ken Travel in late 1995. A10 AAS was seen at the junction of Bell Lane and Newmarket Road, Barton Mills having called to pick up children for the schools located on the nearby United States Air Force bases. The Fullers Garden Centre site is now occupied by residential housing.
The coach is a Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied DAF SB300, a chassis with a low driving position resulting in a deeper windscreen than on the likes of the Volvo B10M. It was new to Lewis’s Coaches of Pailton, Sussex in April 1986 registered C315 UFP. The number plate A10 AAS represents the initials of one of the business partners (A. A. Storey) preceded by the number of the trunk road through Littleport (the A10) on which the company garage was located.

Saturday 23 May 1998 – Mil-Ken Travel subsidiary Storeys Coaches JAZ 6917 at RAF Mildenhall between trips on the ‘Liberty Link’ shuttle for USAF personnel at the Air Fete.
It is a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied DAF SB200 that had been new to Appleby’s of Cornisholme in April 1983 registered HAT 677Y. It had also carried registrations 600 JOT and JFL 807Y before JAZ 6917.
On the left is West Row Coach Services TND 418X, a Plaxton Supreme bodied DAF MB200 that had been new to Jacksons of Altrincham in May 1982. Jacksons was one of the companies forming part of what became Shearings.

Wednesday 30 December 1992 – A frosty morning in Ely around 0830 with three local vehicles that had been parked overnight.
Storey’s Coaches of Littleport RNY 309Y, a Plaxton Paramount bodied Leyland Tiger new in March 1983 to Hill’s of Tredegar, is flanked by to Bedfords operated by Ely based Grey’s Coaches. Quite a number of vehicles in the Grey’s fleet carry dateless ‘ESU’ registrations. Furthest from the camera is Plaxton Supreme bodied ESU 369 and on the right is Duple Dominant bodied ESU 389.

JAZ 3562 was a Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied DAF SB2300, a chassis with a low driving position resulting in a deeper windscreen than on the likes of the Volvo B10M. Friday 29 December 1989 – The coach parking spaces in Barton Road, in Ely, Cambridgeshire were criminally sacrificed to housing in later years resulting in visiting coaches and their drivers being sent to out of city locations.
In this view having been parked overnight at Barton Road are Ferrers Coaches of South Woodham Ferrers, Essex G856 VAY, a Duple 320 bodied Dennis Javelin new in November 1989.
