Friday 12 January 2019 (1050) – First Eastern Counties Buses 36193 (BN12 JYT) seen passing the Anglia Television building in Norwich. It is a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL new in June 2012 initially assigned to First Games Transport to work at the 2012 Olympic Games. It wears a red front for operation on the ‘Red Line’ group of services 23/24.

Friday 12 January 2019 (1002) – The Norwich Park and Ride service 501 operated by Go-Ahead owned Konectbus calls at the terminal building of Norwich Airport. The driver of 629 (SN65 OAJ), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 new in September 2015, taps in a code to gain access to the restricted road along the front of the main building. The airport is to the north of the city on a site originally established as a World War II air station named RAF Horsham St. Faith. One of the principal airlines serving Norwich for many years has been KLM that has daily flights from here to Schipol, Amsterdam which connect to the KLM global network.

Friday 12 January 2019 (1002) – Go-Ahead owned Konectbus 631 (SN65 OAM) seen passing the Terminal Building at Norwich Airport working the Park and Ride service 501 to the City Centre. It is an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 new in September 2015. The airport is to the north of the city on a site originally established as a World War II air station named RAF Horsham St. Faith. Friday 11 January 2019 (1102) – Go-Ahead owned Konectbus 624 (SN65 OAC), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 new in September 2015, seen in Tombland, Norwich.
The restaurant on the corner of the street carries the name of Edith Cavell, the nurse who was a native of Swardeston near Norwich. She had lived in Belgium prior to World War I and is celebrated for nursing and tending soldiers from any side indiscriminately when war started. She helped numerous Allied soldiers escape German occupied Belgium for which she was sentenced and shot by a German firing squad in 1915. Edith is buried in the grounds of the nearby Norwich Cathedral.

Friday 11 January 2019 (1112) – Countrywide the First Group has outshopped a number of buses in the old colours and liveries of the many different constituent bus companies absorbed over the years.
First Eastern Counties Buses 60916 (YG02 DKU) seen in Norwich is a Volvo B7L with Wright Eclipse Urban bodywork that had been new to First York in March 2002. Not only does it wear the post privatisation Eastern Counties livery but it also carries a pseudo alpha numeric fleet number in the style once used by the company (VW916).

It wears a pink front for operation on the ‘Pink Line’ group of services 11/12. The Streetdeck is an integral model which, I believe, is powered with a Daimler engine.

Friday 11 January 2019 (1118) – Belle Coaches (Shreeve) of Lowestoft LIL 9713 standing in Castle Meadow below Norwich Castle. It is a Setra S315GT-HD that had been new to Redwing (Pullmanor) in March 2000 registered W215 UGX. Displaying a board in the windscreen ‘558 Norwich’ implies it had arrived on the ‘Norwich Shopper’ service 558 from Hopton.
