Thursday 31 May 2018 (1534) – Two Go North East Wrightbus Streetdeck double deckers seen in Durham bus station. Both allocated to Chester-le-Street garage and both new in December 2017. Left is 6322 (NK67 GNF) wearing the ‘Angel’ livery for service 21 and right is 6332 (NK67 GOA) wearing an all over advertising livery promoting the use of bank card payment on the buses.

Thursday 31 May 2018 (1534) – Go North East Wrightbus Streetdeck 6322 (NK67 GNF) leaving Durham bus station on the ‘Angel’ service 21 to Newcastle. It is allocated to Chester-le-Street garage. The service takes its name from the ‘Angel of the North’ sculpture which the service passes on its journey.

Thursday 31 May 2018 (1534) – Go North East 6333 (NK67 GOC), a Wrightbus Streetdeck new in January 2018, seen in Durham bus station on the ‘Angel’ service 21 to Newcastle. Allocated to Chester-le-Street garage it carries a variation of the ‘Angel’ branded livery publicising the night service. The service takes its name from the ‘Angel of the North’ sculpture which the service passes on its journey. I travelled on this bus to Gateshead.

It wears an all over advertising livery promoting the use of bank card payment on the buses. Note that ‘GOA’ in the registration number stands for Go-Ahead.

Thursday 31 May 2018 (1535) – Go North East 6332 (NK67 GOA) seen in Durham bus station. It is a Wrightbus Streetdeck allocated to Chester-le-Street garage that was new in December 2017. It wears an all over advertising livery promoting the use of bank card payment on the buses. Note that ‘GOA’ in the registration number stands for Go-Ahead.

Thursday 31 May 2018 (1556) – Go North East 6155 (LJ62 KOX) seen in Durham bus station. It is a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL that had been new to London General (WVL500) in October 2012. Both companies owned by the Go-Ahead Group.

Thursday 31 May 2018 (1554) – Go North East 5246 (NK56 KHR), a Scania OmniCity February 2007, seen in Durham bus station. It is allocated to Washington garage for operation on service 50 which is branded ‘Whey Aye Five O’ combining the north eastern expression ‘whey aye’ with the tv series Hawaii Five O. A nice colourful branding - however I didn’t see many palm trees and surfers on the way to South Shields!

Leaving on service X21 to Newcastle is Go North East. 6141 (YN04 GJY), an East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N94UD that had been new to Brighton & Hove (626) in April 2004. Behind that is Go North East 6332 (NK67 GOA), a Wrightbus Streetdeck new in December 2017, wearing an all over advertising livery. Both are allocated to Chester-le-Street garage.

Thursday 31 May 2018 (1533) – Go North East. 6141 (YN04 GJY) leaving Durham bus station on service X21 to Newcastle. It is an East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N94UD that had been new to Brighton & Hove (626) in April 2004. (Allocated to Chester-le-Street garage). In front is Arriva North East 1529 (MX12 KWL), a Wright Pulsar 2 bodied VDL SB200 new in July 2012, bound for West Auckland on service 6.

Thursday 31 May 2018 (1542) – Arriva Durham County 2838 (YJ08 XBU), an Optare Solo new in August 2008, seen in North Road, Durham. Durham Castle forms the hilltop backcloth.
