Saturday 19 August 2017 (1259) – National Express West Midlands 4899 (BX13 JVW) named ‘Molly’, an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 new in June 2013, seen cornering from Station Street to Dudley Street in Birmingham. It is allocated to Birmingham Central garage. The highly reflective surface of the John Lewis building creates some curious reflections. A black taxi cab with a person stood by it are out of shot on the road level above the bus but the reflected image can be seen above the front upper deck window of the bus (on the darker band). On the shiny band above that can anyone else see the shape of an astronaut up there? or perhaps 'Darth Vader' also??

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1259) – National Express West Midlands 4899 (BX13 JVW) passing The Travellers Choice (J Shaw) of Carnforth, Lancashire 7622 UK in Dudley Street, Birmingham. The bus is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 new in June 2013, the coach a Jonckheere bodied Volvo that was new in April 2008 to Ellaway and Bjelobaba (On a Mission) registered EL08 BUS. Up above are more NXWM buses on Smallbrook Queensway.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1304) – National Express West Midlands buses in Birmingham. At the lower level (Dudley Street) 4900 (BX13 JVY), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 new in June 2013, passes 4176 (Y778 TOH), an Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Trident new in June 2001. There was a key cricket match on today at Edgbaston (England v West Indies) and the latter bus was on standby. Two more of the same style of bus each with the same advertising can be seen up above on Smallbrook Queensway already loading for Edgbaston. The driver of 4176 is leaning on the fence looking up and waiting to be called forward for loading.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1306) – National Express West Midlands 6775 (SN66 WBW), named Anna Maria, seen turning from Pershore Street in to Upper Dean Street, Birmingham on the edge of the China Town area of the city. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 MMC new in September 2016 that works from Wolverhampton garage branded for service 126.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1307) – National Express West Midlands 2145 (BX12 DHV) seen in Pershore Street, Birmingham on the edge of the China Town area of the city. It is a Wright Eclipse bodied Volvo B7RLE new in May 2012.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1321) – National Express West Midlands 4919 (BK63 YWE), named ‘Megan’, seen turning from Pershore Street in to Upper Dean Street, Birmingham on the edge of the China Town area of the city. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 new in November 2014 allocated to West Bromwich garage.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1318) – National Express West Midlands 4659 (BX54 DFO) named ‘Julia’ seen in Moat Lane, Birmingham. It is a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL new in October 2004 allocated to Acocks Green garage.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1330) – National Express West Midlands buses taking the corner from Park Street to Digbeth in Birmingham. Leading, in the newer style livery, is 2217 (YX15 OZG) - an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 MMC new in July 2015. Following, in the older style livery, is 1825 (BV57 XGR), a Scania K230UB Omnilink new in November 2007. Dominating the background is the Selfridge's department store building which forms part of the Bull Ring Shopping Centre. The building, which has become an icon of Birmingham city centre, was completed in 2003 at a cost of around £60million.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1331) – National Express West Midlands 2245 (YX65 PXL) named ‘Natalie Joann’ seen in Digbeth, Birmingham. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 MMC that was new in September 2015.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1335) – National Express West Midlands 4474 (BJ03 EWE) seen in Digbeth, Birmingham. New in August 2003 it was built by Transbus and comprises an Alexander ALX400 style body mounted on a Dennis Trident style chassis.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1402) – National Express West Midlands 6136 (SN15 LHF), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 MMC new in April 2015, seen in Rea Street, Birmingham alongside the National Express coach station.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1419) – National Express West Midlands 2250 (YX65 PXR) named ‘Tamsin’ seen in Park Street, Birmingham. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 MMC that was new in September 2015. The Church of St. Martin in the Bull Ring stands beyond. On the right hand edge of the photograph is part of the silver dotted Selfridges department store.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1318) – National Express West Midlands 4806 (BX08 PXE) named ‘Jenny’, an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 new in June 2013, seen by the outdoor market in Upper Dean Street, Birmingham. It is allocated to Perry Barr garage.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1314) – National Express West Midlands 4691 (BU05 HFJ), a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL new in July 2005, seen in Upper Dean Street, Birmingham. The Rag Market (St. Martin’s Market) building and stalls of the outdoor market form the backcloth. It works from Perry Barr garage.

The outdoor market, the Church of St. Martin in the Bull Ring and the silver dotted Selfridges department store building form the backcloth. It works from Perry Barr garage.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1321) – National Express West Midlands 4919 (BK63 YWE) named ‘Megan’ seen in Moat Lane, Birmingham with the Church of St. Martin in the Bull Ring and the futuristic Selfridges store building as a backcloth. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 new in November 2014 allocated to West Bromwich garage. In front is an unidentified Van Hool coach (*J66 FKA).

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1320) – National Express West Midlands 2217 (YX15 OZG) named ‘Morgan’, an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 MMC new in July 2015, seen in Moat Lane, Birmingham. It is allocated to Acocks Green garage, Coming up behind is Park’s of Hamilton HSK 651, a Plaxton Elite bodied Volvo B9R, and Diamond Bus 30881 (BX10 MFY), a Plaxton Centro bodied Volvo B7RLE.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1325) – National Express West Midlands ALX400 bodied Tridents in Moat Lane, Birmingham. Left is 4185 (Y789 TOH) in the older livery and right is 4566 (BU04 BHY) in the later colours. 4185 is an Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Trident new in July 2001. 4566 is basically the same combination but being new in March 2004 it was built at the time when Alexander and Dennis products were unified under the Transbus name.
