Leading, in the newer style livery, is 2217 (YX15 OZG) - an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 MMC new in July 2015. Following, in the older style livery, is 1825 (BV57 XGR), a Scania K230UB Omnilink new in November 2007.
Dominating the background is the Selfridge's department store building which forms part of the Bull Ring Shopping Centre. The building, which has become an icon of Birmingham city centre, was completed in 2003 at a cost of around £60million.

Saturday 19 August 2017 (1304) – National Express West Midlands buses in Birmingham. At the lower level (Dudley Street) 4900 (BX13 JVY), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 new in June 2013, passes 4176 (Y778 TOH), an Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Trident new in June 2001.
There was a key cricket match on today at Edgbaston (England v West Indies) and the latter bus was on standby. Two more of the same style of bus each with the same advertising can be seen up above on Smallbrook Queensway already loading for Edgbaston. The driver of 4176 is leaning on the fence looking up and waiting to be called forward for loading.

It is allocated to Birmingham Central garage. The highly reflective surface of the John Lewis building creates some curious reflections. A black taxi cab with a person stood by it are out of shot on the road level above the bus but the reflected image can be seen above the front upper deck window of the bus (on the darker band).
