Old Ribble timetable displays at the Lancashire United (Blazefield) garage at Clitheroe – 31 May 2001 (467-26)

Two timetable cases fixed to the side of the office at the former Ribble Motor Services garage premises in Clitheroe.

The cases are typical Ribble design from two eras of the company. That on the right has the company name as used in the 1950s/1960s British Electric Traction (BET) era with the larger R and E separated by the smaller underlined IBBL. That on the left is from the National Bus Company era post 1969 featuring the NBC logo and lettering style.

After a period of ownership by its management Ribble was acquired by Stagecoach Holdings in May 1989 and the displays within the cases have Stagecoach headings and blue paintwork. However, less than a couple of months before this visit Stagecoach had sold the former Ribble garages at Clitheroe, Blackburn and Bolton to the Blazefield group so things would change yet again.
