Stagecoach East 86006 (BV23 NRL) and 10790 (SN66 VZM) in Cambridge - 15 May 2023 (P1150506)

Monday 15 May 2023 (1137) – During April 2023 the first of the thirty MCV bodied Volvo BZL electric double deckers began to arrive at Stagecoach East for operation on the Park & Ride services. 86006 (BV23 NRL) is seen here in St. Andrew’s Street.

During November 2016 the Park & Ride services were revamped to eliminate cross city operation, each of the five sites being served with buses in a different colour running between the site and the city centre only. Babraham Road retained green and Trumpington retained blue whilst Newmarket Road changed to Orange, Milton to Purple and Madingley Road to Fuchsia.

However, the new electric buses all wear the same livery with the colour of the site used for the characters in the destination display.

In front of 86006 is 10790 (SN66 VZM), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400D MMC new in December 2016, wears the fushia livery.

Something was afoot here and, with the help of the Bus Times website, it was possible to see that 10790 did not run the 1130 service to Madingley Road and the 1150 service back although resumed with the 1210 to Madingley Road.

14033, 14034 and 86006 put in a full uninterrupted day on PR2 from first thing until the end of the day. Here 86006 was working the 1140 service.
