Stagecoach East 19591 (AE10 BXC) on the B1506 between Newmarket and Kentford - 11 Oct 2022 (P1130729)

Tuesday 11 October 2022 (1231) – Unfortunately this shot of Stagecoach East 19591 (AE10 BXC) came out blurred but it captures the undulating nature of the B1506 between Newmarket and Kentford. In days gone by this was the A45 trunk road linking the Midlands with Felixstowe later substituted with a dual carriageway which was later still re-numbered A14.

The location was just west of where School Road/Norwich Road crosses the B1506 and 19591 was spot on time as it worked the 1224 service 11 from Newmarket to Bury St. Edmunds. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 bodied Trident new in April 2010. Taken from on board Stagecoach East 15659 (AE10 HFC) working the 1205 service 11 from Bury St. Edmunds to Newmarket and Cambridge.

During mid-September 2022 Stagecoach East announced its intention to withdraw quite a number of bus services which it said were no longer commercially sustainable. Their services 11/X11 ceased after operation on Saturday 29 October 2022 along with the Cambridge-Newmarket-Ely service 12. Replacement services were introduced by Stephensons of Essex from Monday 31 October 2022.
