Ambassador Travel 109 (G109 HNG) and Yorkshire Traction 16 (6341 HE, E214 RDW) in Bury St. Edmunds – May 1994 (221-30)
A rather damp Saturday in May 1994 – Before the building of the bus station in Bury St. Edmunds buses and coaches picked up at various stops along St.Andrew’s Street North. Two coaches working National Express services are seen a little way down the street from the Library almost opposite where the bus station was built.

Nearest the camera is Ambassador Travel 109 (G109 HNG), a Plaxton Paramount bodied Leyland Tiger new in October 1989, working the 0900 service 497 from Lowestoft to London (Victoria). Note the driver’s copy of the National Express Coach Guide in the windscreen tucked behind the dashboard panel.

Standing behind is Yorkshire Traction Company 16 (6341 HE), a Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied Leyland Tiger, working the 0850 service 350 from Clacton-on-Sea to Liverpool. It was one of three such coaches (E213-5 RDW) new in March 1998 to Hills of Tredegar that Tracky acquired which were given registrations from their select series of plates which were 15 (RHE 353), 16 (6341 HE) and 17 (6087 HE).
