Owen’s Coaches G137 TNU at the Smoke House Inn, Beck Row – 31 May 1996 (315-4A)

Friday 31 May 1996 – Owen’s Coaches of Knighton, Wales G137 TNU seen when staying at the Smoke House Inn, Beck Row on tour. It had been new in May 1990 to Goldline of Nottingham.

It is the unmistakable Duple (Hestair Duple) 425 which after Duple’s demise continued to be built by Plaxton after had acquired the jigs and manufacturing rights to the model circa 1990.

The ‘425’ designation derived from the drag coefficient of .425 which the sloping roof window helped achieve.

Alongside is Wallace Arnold J737 CWT, a Plaxton Premiere bodied Volvo B10M new in March 1992.
