Ben Johnson Tours B219 YAT at Ferrybridge Service Area – 2 Oct 1992 (181-18)

Friday 2 October 1992 – Ben Johnson Tours of Middlesbrough B219 YAT, a Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied DAF SB2300 new in June 1985 to Scarborough Football Club. I believe that the coach remained under Plaxton ownership and when not carrying the team it was used by Plaxton for development work. Note the two air intakes. This model normally featured just one mounted above the small feature window.

Scarborough based Plaxton gave some support to Scarborough Football Club enabling the team to travel in style whilst the coachbuilder gained some exposure for its products. In August/September 1967 a new Plaxton Embassy bodied Bedford J2 mini-coach (LAJ 66F) was provided to the club on permanent loan which the Scarborough Evening News reported was as a replacement for a dilapidated coach bodied by a competitor!
