Bus Éireann VP36 (97D7810) arriving VCS, London - 30 Nov 1997 (378-28)

Saturday 30 November 1997 (0905) – Bus Eireann VP36 (97 D 7810), a Plaxton Premiere bodied Volvo B10m new in 1997, sweeps into the arrivals garage of Victoria Coach Station, London. It had worked the overnight Eurolines service from Dublin and was only about 5 minutes late.

The arrivals garage is located in the former Samuelsons Garage (and therefore known colloquially by staff and drivers as “Sammy’s”) in Eccleston Place just a short walk away from the main coach station itself.

Although difficult to make out in this photograph, above the black and yellow speed hump which the coach is crossing, there are thin jets of water across the whole entrance which spray the coaches at locker level as they enter. This certainly prevents passengers straying in and out of the coach entrance area.
