Bristol Greyhound 2138 (BHU 92C) in Winchester - 1 Jan 2004 (518-24A)

Thursday 1 January 2004 – ‘Friends of King Alfred Buses’ (FoKAB) Running Day at Winchester (and surrounding area)
Preserved former Bristol Omnibus Company Ltd 2138 (BHU 92C), a 1965 Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol MW6G. One of the first long distance coach services in England was operated by Greyhound Motors of Bristol which BOC bought out then using ‘Bristol Greyhound’ as a trading name. BOC was also a member of ‘Associated Motorways’, a non-vehicle owning pool of express service operators.
BHU 92C was seen on Broadway in Winchester having arrived as the 0830 Bristol-Winchester ‘Associated Motorways’ service (due 1130) which formed part of the ‘Friends of King Alfred Buses’ annual running day, held New Year’s Day, which sees preserved buses/coaches running a network of fully timetabled free services creating a 1960s atmosphere.
