TNS Travel YT16 FTY at Melton Mowbray - 27 Jul 2019 (P1030174)

Saturday 27 July 2019 (1020) – I was travelling on a train from Ely (0816) to Leicester (due 0947) when it was announced that there had been a fatality on the track at Leicester railway station. Consequently the train was not going to stop there.

We were advised the leave the train at Melton Mowbray (0930) where a rail replacement ‘bus’ would be waiting outside the station. Well there wasn’t anything waiting and it was about 1015 when this rather nice Irizar i6 operated by TNS Travel of Walsall arrived. However, by then we had been advised that the following train calling at Melton Mowbray (at 1030) was on time so all the potential passengers had decided to use that train rather than the replacement coach. YT16 FTY, seen on the approach to Melton Mowbray station, was new to Goldline of Leytonstone in March 2016.
