Saturday 29 September 2018 (1111) – Delaine Buses Limited of Bourne, Lincolnshire has created its own bus museum as a separate charity, The Delaine Heritage Trust.

The museum collection is in a purpose built building at the garage site in Bourne and, as well as providing covered accommodation for the (currently) five preserved buses, there are numerous artefacts, photographs and records on display that cover the history of the company which had its origins in 1890.

This engraved stone is set in the museum building.

It certainly is a remarkable venture for such a family business. There are still some finishing touches to be made before the formal opening which is planned for the Spring of 2019.

Other than the organised running days I am not aware of any set opening times/days as yet so it would always be advisable to contact Delaine in advance of a planned visit to confirm.
