Vandenaweele garage, Hooglede-Gits, Roeselare, Belgium - 5 Feb 1995

Monday 5 February 1995 (approx. 1245) – The sign, partially in shadow, outside the garage of Gebroeders Vandenaweele at Hooglede-Gits near Roeselare. The business was established in the late 1920s. The family ran a varied fleet of buses and coaches which included some Jonckheere bodied vehicles built at their factory close by - two Jonckheere products stand in the background flanking my Austin Montego. Do you remember the 'Telex'? A method of communication becoming outmoded as the use of the 'Telefax' (more commonly to be known as 'Fax') became more widespread. I don't know what the 'A1961' means.
