DSCF8066 Stagecoach (Glenvale) 10572 (SN16 OTJ) and 10573 (SN16 OTK) in Liverpool - 16 Jun 2017
Friday 16 June 2017 (1710) – A matching pair of Stagecoach in Merseyside (Glenvale) Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 MMCs heading up Leece Street in Liverpool. They are 10572 (SN16 OTJ) and 10573 (SN16 OTK), both new in May 2016. They were passing the ruined shell of St. Luke’s Church, which stands at the corner of Berry Street and Lecce Street. On 6 May 1941 the church was hit by an incendiary device during the bombing of Liverpool which caused a large fire leaving only the shell of the building remaining. The shell remains as a memorial to those lost in the World War 2 bombing raids inflicted on the city.
