Morley's Grey London service timetable circa 1980

Morley’s Grey Coaches operated a regular service to London from the Mildenhall and Lakenheath area for many years. This timetable dates from the early 1980s after the route was changed to include Red Lodge and Newmarket rather than Freckenham, Chippenham and Snailwell. During the 1960s many London families moved to Suffolk as part of the ‘overspill relocation’ programme and Morley’s service provided a direct link to enable families to visit each other in their old and new haunts. The service offered a combination of day return facilities from the Suffolk end on Tuesdays and Saturdays plus additional Friday and Sunday services to enable weekend visits to be made from either end of the service. As the years progressed and the family ties between the two areas diminished the late Friday/Sunday weekend services ceased. The service became a daily run from Suffolk to London in the morning returning from London at 1800. It also commenced in Brandon for a time. As the road network improved and the M11 motorway opened the journey time was reduced by one hour.
