Henry Nuttall (Rochdale) Ltd GFU 712 - circa 1970

Circa 1970 - Henry Nuttall (Rochdale) Limited was a manufacturer of catering equipment and 'chip ranges' for frying in fish and chip shops. Staff transport was provided using this blue and cream/white Duple Vista bodied Bedford OB which was first registered in June 1950 to J A Hankins of Scunthorpe that traded as Reliance.

The darker panel midway along the side of the coach was a deeper blue and had been applied to cover the name 'Reliance'. The rear doors though, also painted over, carried the full details of the company which operated the coach prior to Nuttall's acquiring it. This was Perrett and Sons of Shipton Oliffe, Gloucestershire. It replaced a Duple bodied Crossley coach (EF 9742?) that had been new to Bee-Line, West Hartlepool.

The photograph was taken outside Nuttall's works in Holmes Street, Rochdale just before the buzzer went for finishing time.
