DSCF6072 Malta route bus 2458 (EBY 528, SKR 801G)

Showbus, Sunday 21 September 2014 - Former Malta route bus 2458, a Debono bodied Bedford (Maltese Docks with Bedford parts) dating from 1969. Maltese operators used to adorn their buses with all many of trinkets and sometimes quite misleading lettering. The top destination box shows AEC! It carries British registration is SKR 801G when on the road and this had been covered over with Maltese plate 2458 for display at the rally.

(Malta has had various registration systems over the lifetime of this bus. It was new as 2458. Between 1979-1982 the registration system changed with numbers being prefixed with an 'A' thus it became A-2458. A further, quite different series was introduced in 1982 with registration Y-1229 being applied and then, in 1984, yet another system saw it registered to Y-0528. Finally, on January 1 1996 a another new system saw it become EBY528).
