The Butt

A 500 litre capacity wooden barrel made of oak staves, originally used for sherry storage and shipment, which is thereafter used to store Scotch Malt Whisky. It can be used generally for three separate ten-fifteen year sessions of maturing and flavouring malt whisky before they are discarded.
