How many of these frogs in the making will survive the heron and the mallards?

There was a letter to the Telegraph a day or two ago from someone who fed tadpoles on marmite-covered toast, left floating marmite side down. Had he tried marmalade or strawberry jam first, one wonders! What about the tadpoles which hate marmite? :-)
