Cokin Filters - first steps

Early Christmas present was strapped on to the front of my 17-55mm Canon lens, with a Grad 2 and Grad 3 Neutral Density Cokin Filter. Handicap is that you need a relatively flat horizon to darken just the sky, without also darkening tops of trees sticking above the skyline. These will be ideal for seascapes and distant horizon landscapes...
