The architecture is based on the old Zaandam construction with the colours 'Zaans green'...... In Dutch: Het is een opvallend gebouw doordat de buitenkant volledig bestaat uit een opeenstapeling van bijna zeventig losse Zaanse huisjes, uitgevoerd in vier kleuren Zaans groen. Het gebouw is ontworpen door Wilfried van Winden... Het huidige hotel maakt deel uit van in 2003 gestarte project Inverdan. Doel van het project was herstructurering van de Zaanse binnenstad. Bij andere Inverdan-gebouwen komt, net zoals bij Inntel Hotel, de traditionele Zaanse architectuur veel terug. Op één huisje na zijn alle huisjes op de gevel groen. Dit ene blauwe huisje staat voor het huisje van Monet. Hij schilderde in 1871 namelijk het schilderij 'La Maison Bleue', hierop is een blauw Zaans huisje te zien. www.inntelhotelsamsterdamzaandam.nl

Last year we didn't have purple heather, but only brown ones from the dry weather in summer (June / July 2018). This year we also had some weeks of extreme heat, but on the 'moment suprème' there came some days lots of rain which make the heather blooming now... In years it wasn't so nice...
