McCaig's Tower, Oban
Built in 1897 by John Stuart McCaig , it provided work for local stonemasons and was intended to stand as a monument to his family. Unfortunately he died and it was never completed and it is now a public garden. It stands overlooking Oban, and is well worth a visit for the magnificent views.

In the distance can be seen the Small Islands of the Inner Hebrides The lighthouse itself was designed by Alan Stevenson, the uncle of Robert Louis Stevenson. It was manned by two lighthouse keepers, who supplemented their income and food supply by keeping cows and sheep on the surrounding land

Kyleakin, Isle of Skye
I loved the way the bends and twists of this stretch of water were accentuated by its banks and the song 'Bend It' by Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich came into my head.
