Interplanetary Craft!!

The Lock Inn at Maunsel Lock, North Newton with canal boats and people enjoying a canalside walk.

The Somerset Space Walk is a 14 mile stretch alongside the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal with sculptures of the Sun, at Maunsel Lock, and it's planets, with one set of planets in each direction. The planets are in the correct order and proportionally the correct sizes and distance apart. Built on a scale of 1:530,000,000 it was designed to give some concept of the vastness of the solar system

So here we clearly have some Interplanetary Craft, although calling out the occupants may just be a waste of time as they are probably in the pub!!!

What else could I add but the Capenters, (clearly needed to keep the craft in good condition) and

Thank you very much TOZ. Yes and it seems like a nice relaxed way of life, although in reality it is probably harder than it looks. It would certainly be nice to moor up and go in for a drink or food. It kind of reminds me of a holiday we had on the Norfolk Broads years ago, mooring up close to the pub.

What a picturesque place and what fun to see interplanetary craft :-) A brilliant idea.
And this reminds me the canal boat trip I took in France (Burgundy) years ago. It was great, but also hard work. Every few kilometers we had to pass through a lock and a lot of them were still manually operated.

I agree. I love watching canal boats Not a life I would want - too much maintenance and too little space but the idea is quite romantic and the freedom to just 'move house' is quite appealing.
