A beautifully composed image of this imposing castle, Carol. It wasn't open when we visited, but what impressed us was that Inveraray was relocated so the Castle had a clear view to the Loch. A great link too.

Thank you very much George. I didn't know that. Quite a project moving Inveraray I would imagine. I would think there were people who were quite unhappy about it at the time. It seems that there was a fire in the castle in 1975 and the 12th Duke and his family lived in the basement whilst funding was raised and renovation work carried out. I'm ashamed to say I've never visited this magnificent building. Inveraray is somewhere I always seem to drive through on my way to somewhere else. You've inspired me to stop next time I go that way.
