To celebrate the new millennium, Canada created a two year circulating commemorative program that would be conducted in two parts (one in 1999 and one in 2000). Each program released 12 quarters per year (1 per month) and each featured a unique design. The coin you refer to is for September 1999.

In Zeiten des Euros ist es in den Geldbeuteln hier recht eintönig geworden..ich freue mich ja schon über eine irische Harfe auf dem Eurostück :)
Schöne Sammlung....schöne Motive auf den Münzen und das auf Schwarz..gut ist das :)

Thanks so much for your visit and kind comment Tanja. I was lucky enough to live in the then West Germany and visit the Netherland, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland before the introduction of the Euro. I was therefore able to enjoy the variety of coins/banknotes on my travels.
