New species for our patio, although we used to see one or two on the Bridge were we started mothing. We had 7 in one night!

Status Rare Migrant but I'm sure we have a local colony, Andy gets these as well not to far from us.
Not common but a yearly visitor on the patio.

Feeding on the Buddlia, they normally feed at night but this guy came out of the moth trap hungry...lol

They eat lichen or like wilted dandelion or lettuce.
Took these by stacking the Raynox 250 with 150. They is tiny!!

Can't wait to see them a bit bigger. They over winter as caterpillars, so will be releasing them somewhere more lichenie.

Robberfly with Moth

I was sorta kinda hoping to find a Rosy Marbled (bit late I know) lurking around, soon as we saw this Robberfly with a moth I just knew it would be the one. The best moths are found in the mouths of other bugs...haha.... It wasn't btw.

Tiny but lovely moth, bad angle on this because it was so small, I could get either its eyes or its ...em wing tips in focus...lol
