This one in Alexandra park is going mad with blooms this first day of spring.
Green Flowers
|
|
No Idea what this flower is, I'm not usually a fan of green flowers but this is lovely. There is also a plum colored version in the park as well.

St Leonards Pano

St Leonards on Sea from Hastings Pier.
I was intent on putting this together in some way until Laser mentioned this wonderful Autostitch program. I'm probably the last to learn about it, but if I'm not and you'd like to know about it just ask.
Needless to say best viewed large :)

Paint Horse
|
|
This horse was just passing by, couldn't resist asking to get a portrait. I wondered about all the safety gear a bit but thought well better safe then sorry.
When we got home I realized why, this horse is completely blind on his right side, missing an eye. This means that from his right and especially behind he can't take evasive action and so it makes sense to alert on coming people or traffic that hes there.
Gorgeous creature and cute braid :)

Saw this up on stilts again the other day and had to grab a shot. I resisted the urge to clone the stilts out and convince you all it was really magic :)
Cormorant back (Phalacrocorax carbo)
|
|
Adult Cormorant from the back, with the water rolling off those lovely feathers.
The pair I've watched all year have had no special marks on their heads like these, and I can find no mention of them having a 'winter/summer plumage' per say.
Although these are not the most spectacular photos, I wanted to post this for a couple reasons.
One being I'd like an ID on the type of Cormorant this actually is. I've looked and looked through miles of sites and photos and although he looks a lot like a double-crested cormorant, he also does not. (no white on the breast).
Secondly there has been a pair of cormorants staying near the Shorden reservoir at Alexandra for over a year now, and if this happens to be the same ones in winter plumage, the family was out and about.
I counted one adult and 4 young the day I took these.
